Two community workshops have been arranged this month to finalise plans for the Keyham greenspace improvements.

Working with Green Minds and YGS (landscapes and environmental consultants) residents will have the chance to co-design the detail of plans for two of the main green spaces in our area.

On Tuesday, 7 June you are invited to drop in anytime between 4.30pm – 6.30pm at Keyham Green Places to have a look at draft designs for Alexandra Park and share your ideas to help finalise the plan for this park. You can find out more here.

And on Thursday, 16 June it’s the turn of North Down Crescent Park. Between the same times you are invited to drop into The Shed where you can stay as long as you like to discuss improvements to this popular green space. Find more details here.

The community workshops are part of the Keyham Greenspace Plan which aims to make the local green spaces safer, more welcoming and accessible and better for wildlife.

Over the past few weeks a number of initiatives and activities have taken place including:

  • The creation of a community orchard and hedgerow in Knowle Avenue along with vegetation cutbacks and path installation. Residents and cubs from 1st Keyham (St Mark) Scout Group helped create the orchard and hedgerow and you can read more here.

  • Mini-police social action day in North Down Crescent Park in which children from Keyham Barton, Drake Primary and Ford Primary got involved with wildflower seed sowing and wildlife games. See more here. The mini-police have also been involved in daffodil-planting in North Down Crescent Park
